Warrant issued for burglary suspect
A man accused of first degree burglary did not appear in court as scheduled on October 20.
As a result, Third District Court Judge James Fabian issued a bench warrant for Odell Thompson, 19, La Crescent, for failure to appear. The judge also set bail at $35,000.
Thompson was supposed to attend court that day for an omnibus hearing on charges related to an August 12 incident in Caledonia.
Thompson allegedly broke into a home that day and confronted an ex-girlfriend who had filed an order for protection against him.
He is charged with first degree burglary, a felony; fourth degree burglary, a gross misdemeanor; violation of domestic abuse no contact order, a misdemeanor; and obstructing the legal process, a gross misdemeanor.
Thompson had posted bail from the Houston County Jail on the earlier charges burglary charges.
