Hoff extradited to Wisconsin

Nicholas Reed Hoff, 19, waived his right to an extradition hearing in Third District Court on November 23.

The Caledonia man was transported to La Crosse County in Wisconsin later that afternoon. Hoff had initially contested the extradition request on November 19.

He is charged with one count of burglary of a disabled person while masked, and one count of robbery of a disabled person while masked, in an October 19 incident at the home of Ronald Muenchen.

Hoff and two other men allegedly broke into the manís apartment and stole a large amount of prescription pain medication and $12 in cash. Muenchen told officers that he was taking the morphine for lung cancer.

Muenchen was robbed and beaten in another burglary five days later. He suffered a lacerated liver, broken ribs, and head injuries from the attack. The 57-year-old died from those injuries on November 18.

Three teenagers face multiple charges in that incident, including being party to the crime of first degree reckless homicide of a disabled person. Hoff was not involved in that incident.
