Edna Eiken
Edna Jeanette Eiken, 87, of Spring Grove, died Saturday, October 9, 2004, at Tweeten Health Services in Spring Grove.
She was born May 5, 1917, to Henry and Emily (Vesterse) Lund in Black Hammer Township, rural Spring Grove.
Edna was a lifelong Spring Grove area resident.
She was baptized and confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church of Black Hammer, and was a graduate of Spring Grove High School.
On Feb 25, 1938 Edna married Joseph Eiken at the Trinity Parsonage in Spring Grove.
Joe and Edna farmed in Black Hammer Township from 1946- 1979, at which time they moved into Spring Grove.
Joe preceded Edna in death on August 6, 1990.
Edna had worked twenty-six years for Mansfield Argus, Control Data, and Northern Engraving of Spnng Grove.
She was a former member of Faith Lutheran Church of Black Hammer, rural Spring Grove, and a current member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph (Linda) Eiken of Dorchester, IA, and David (Renee) Eiken of Spring Grove; three daughters, Audrey (Charles) Ellingson of Caledonia, Karen Kragness, of Spring Grove, and Lauren (Craig) Amdahl of Mabel; 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; one brother, Leland (Lucille) Lund of Fond Du Lac, Wl; two sisters Ona Brand of Winona, and Agnes (Lawrence) Morrison of Waterloo, IA.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Lund; two sisters Eunice Colvin and Evelyn Tilleraas, and a grandson, Jon Kragness.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2004, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove.
Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Pastor Zane Anderson will officiate.
Friends may call Monday from 5-7 p.m. at Roble Funeral Service in Spring Grove and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
