Mildred Schleich
Mildred Heintz Schleich, 92, of Caledonia, died Friday, October 8, 2004 at Caledonia Care and Rehab, Caledonia.
She was born June 8, 1912, in Caledonia to Nicholas and Katherine (Hosch) Guillaume. She married Lloyd Heintz November 7, 1933 at St. Peterís Catholic Church, Caledonia. Lloyd preceded her in death June 14, 1950. She married Valery Schleich April 23, 1957 at St. Peterís Catholic Church, Caledonia. Valery died June 4, 2004.
Mildred owned and operated Heintz and Smith Rock Products of Caledonia from 1950-57. She then worked for Caledonia Creamery, later Land O Lakes, as a bookkeeper for many years. She was a member of St. Maryís Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women.
She is survived by two sons, Donald (Mary Lou) Heintz of La Crescent and Gerald (Margaret) Heintz of Caledonia; a sister, Judy Smith of Caledonia; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by an infant son and an infant daughter, a sister, Lavina Guillaume, and a brother Clarence Guillaume.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, October 12, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Maryís Catholic Church, Caledonia. Father Gregory Leif will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia. Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday morning at the church before the service.
