John Paus
John L. Paus, 61, of Eitzen, died Saturday, October 16, 2004, at Gundersen-Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse.
He was born April 15, 1943, in La Crosse to Harold and Norma (Pottratz) Paus. On July 7, 1967, he married Carol Feil at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Eitzen. John loved and lived for farming until his health caused him to retire in 2000.
Survivors include his wife, Carol of Eitzen; two children, Tim (Charlene) of Dorchester, lowa, and Courtney (Paul) Flatten of Spring Grove, Minn.; three grandchildren; a sister, Dixie Plagge of New Albin, lowa; two brothers, Russell (Sally) of Dorchester, lowa, and Stanton of Waukon, lowa; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant sisters.
Funeral services with military honors will be Wednesday, October 20, 2004, at 11 a.m. at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Eitzen. Rev. Todd Krueger will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery at a later date. Friends may call at Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home, Caledonia, on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
