Alice Halverson

Alice Charlotte Halverson, 97, of Spring Grove, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2004, at Tweeten Health Services in Spring Grove.

She was born on June 13, 1907, in Spring Grove, to Andrew and Christina (Olstad) Ness. She was a lifelong Spring Grove area resident, and attended the Storlie School in District 55, in rural Spring Grove.

On June 30, 1939 she married Jon C.A. Halverson. The couple farmed in Spring Grove Township until Jonís death on Feb. 27, 1978. Alice later moved to Spring Grove. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove, and a very active member of its womenís groups. She delivered meals on wheels for many years. Alice was a member of the County Extension Homemakers group in Spring Grove for over fifty years.

She loved flowers, especially roses, she was also an excellent cook and baker. Survivors include her two daughters, Janice (Duane) Brekke of Hanska, MN., and Carol (Curtis) Rustad of Winona, MN; three grandsons; two nieces, and one sister-in-law, Borghild Blegen of Spring Grove.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister Emma Jetson, and her brother James Ness.

Funeral services will be held Monday October 11, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church of Spring Grove.

Burial will be in the Trinity church cemetery.

Pastor Zane Anderson will officiate.

Friends may call Sunday from 5-7 p.m., at Roble Funeral Services in Spring Grove, and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
