Sigrid Nerstad
Sigrid Charlotte Nerstad, age 90, of Spring Grove, passed away Monday October 4, 2004, at Tweeten Health Services in Spring Grove. She was born November 12, 1913, in Black Hammer, to Arnt and Ida (Housker) Amunrud. She was a lifelong rural Spring Grove resident and attended rural Mabel and Spring Grove Schools.
On June 21, 1935, she married Levi Nerstad at the Riceford Church parsonage in Riceford, MN, they were married by Reverend Borg-Breen.
She farmed with her husband in Spring Grove Township, until Leviís death on November 30, 1993. Sigrid continued to live on the farm until spring of 2004.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove, and its womens groups. She was also a member of the county extensionsí homemakers group.
Survivors include two sons, Richard (Arlys) Nerstad of Rochester, Mn, and Karl (Donna) Nerstad of East Peoria, Ill.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Amunrud of Mabel, MN.; two sisters, Helen (Nels) Gulbranson, and Ardes Staven both of Spring Grove. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Obert Staven, and one sister-in-law, Amy Amunrud.
Funeral services will be held Friday October 8, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church of Spring Grove.
Burial will be in the Trinity church cemetery.
Friends called Thursday from 5-7 p.m., at Roble Funeral Services in Spring Grove, and one prior to services at the church on Friday.
