TRACK: The Caledonia/Spring Grove/Mabel-Canton track teams had a strong start to the season with an excellent showing at the Empire Invitational track meet held in Holmen on April 5. The girlsí and boysí teams both finished second out of 12 teams.

There were four first-place finishes for the boys, and three meet records set.

The Caledonia hosted a quadrangular track meet Friday with teams from La Crosse Logan, La Crescent, and Winona. No team scores were kept, but the Caledonia/Spring Grove/Mabel-Canton team had six first place finishes.

GIRLS GOLF: Caledonia/Spring Groveís girls golf team looked good at its first meet on April 5, beating La Crescent 189-233.

Scores were Jacquelyn Hauser 40, with an eagle on the last hole; Meghan Burg and Katelyn Hauser 49, Heidi Welscher and Maggie McCarthy 51, and Kelsey Kruse 53.

BOYS GOLF: Caledonia/Spring Grove lost its first golf meet of the season, 194 to Southland/Grand Meadowís 155 at Southland.

The top scorers for the Warriors were Chad Tileraas 44, Mitchell Massman 48, Tyler Schulte 50, Alek Eglinton 52, Luke Daley 56, and Erik Fisch 59.

BASEBALL: Caledonia started its 2005 baseball season with two wins, 7-0 over Southland in Adams on April 4, and 13-3 at home against Kingsland three days later.
