Fern G. Pieper

Fern G. Pieper, 78, of Caledonia, died Monday, April 11, 2005 at Caledonia Care and Rehab after a long illnessÝwith Alzheimers Disease.

FernÝwas born July 24, 1926 in Houston to Harry and Melva (Orr) Mickelson. On July 22, 1945,Ýshe married Telmer M. Pieper andÝthey wouldÝhave celebrated 60 years of marriage this summer. On November 11, 2004, Telmer preceded Fern in death. ÝFern helped Telmer in the operation of their family business, Pieper Plumbing and Heating in Caledonia. She was a member of St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church in Caledonia and she served as secretary of the School Friends Society.

Survivors include three sons, Gerald (Mary) and Len (Robin) both of Caledonia, and Lyle (Paula) of LeCenter, Minn.;Ýone sister, Leona (Bob) Brock of Cranks, Kentucky; and six grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Fern was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, Jamie, Ýand one brother, Hank.

Services will be Thursday, April 14, at 11 a.m. from St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church, 650 N. Kingston St., Caledonia. Rev. Tom Schultz will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church, Caledonia Care and Rehab, or a charity of your choice.

Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home, Caledonia, is in charge of arrangements.
