Caledonia woman arrested for murder plot against dad
Jessica L. Burmester, 23, Caledonia, was arrested by La Crosse, Wisconsin, police on April 14 on suspicion that she plotted to kill her father.
Authorities were expected to charge her with solicitation to commit murder on April 19.
Police have been investigating the case since last October, when a co-worker reported that Burmester said she would give him $20,000 from her fatherís life insurance policy if the co-worker killed him.
The man told police that he was short on money and asked her for more money. She allegedly increased the price to $50,000, which she said was half of the policyís value.
Bail for Burmester was set at $10,000 on April 15, when she made her first court appearance in La Crosse County Circuit Court. She is currently in jail.
