TRACK:
Brianna Polus set a meet record Friday at the Lewiston -Altura Invitational on April 15. Polusís high jump of 5'8" was her best so far this season.
Last year, Polus was took second at state with a jump of 5'7" and the winning jump was 5'8".
Polus also took first in the 100 meter with a time of 12.95.
As a team, the Caledonia/Spring Grove girls took fourth place (88 points) out of the nine team competing. Only the first three place winners in each event were available.
The boys took second place at the invitational with a score of 94.
Clint Grabhorn was second in the 100 meter run with a time of 11.27 and Travis Steele was third in that event with a time of 11.28
Andy Marnach was first in the 400 with a time of 52.33, and took another first in the 200 with 23.05.
Kyle Hunzeker jumped 6'0" for first place in the high jump.
SOFTBALL:
The Spring Grove/Caledonia softball team came from behind a two-run deficit to beat La Crescent 5-2 on April 15.
SG/C had a hard time against Houstonís hot bats on April 11. The final score of that game was 1
GIRLS GOLF:Caledonia/Spring Groveís girls finished first in an eight team golf meet on April 16 in Hayfield.
The Warriorís 170 was 16 strokes better than their closest competitor, Austin.
Scores were Jacquelyn Hauser and Katelyn Hauser, 42; Meghan Burg and Heidi Welscher 43, Kelsey Kruse 49, and Maggie McCarthy 52. The Hausers were second overall. Burg and Welscher were third overall.
C/SG scored a 187-238 victory over Fillmore Central at Harmony Golf Club on April 11.
Scores were J. Hauser 41, H. Welscher 47, Burg 49, Janelle Lilliquist 50, K. Kruse 54, and K. Hauser 58.
The Warriors defeated Kingsland 181-247 on a warm and sunny afternoon at the Root River Golf Course April 15.
Scorers for Caledonia were J. Hauser 40, Burg 44, K. Hauser 48, H. Welscher 49, Kruse 51, and McCarthy 58.
The varsity team is now 5-0.
BOYS GOLF: Caledonia/Spring Grove won its first boys golf meet of the season with a 196-197 win over Kingsland on April 12 at MaCalGrove in Caledonia.
Top scorers for the Warriors were Tyler Schulte 45, Alek Eglinton 47, Kyle Runningen 50, Erik Fisch and Craig Loeffler 52, and Chad Tileraas 55.
The win followed by one day a 197-161 loss on the road to Winona Cotter.
Top scorers for C/SG were Chad Tileraas 46, Tyler Schulte 49, Kyle Runningen 50, Alek Eglinton 52, Craig Loeffler 54, and Mitchell Massman 55.
Rushford-Peterson, one of the top teams in the area, defeated C/SG 159-204 on April 15 at Ferndale.
Scorers for Caledonia were Alek Eglinton 45, Kyle Runningen, Erik Fisch, and Chad Tileraas 53; and Tyler Schulte and Craig Loeffer 56.
BASEBALL: Caledonia started its 2005 baseball season with two wins, 7-0 over Southland in Adams on April 4, and 13-3 at home against Kingsland three days later.
