A new business has come to Caledonia.
Family Fashions, which sells name brand used clothing, toys, and accessories, recently opened in the Caledonia Mall (the old elementary school).
Owner Jessica Frauenkron, 27, has a similar store, called Twice is Nice, in Onalaska, Wisconsin, where she lives.
She said she expanded to Caledonia to build up another line of customer base.
The items, including clothing in children through adult sizes, is brought in by clientele, and sold on a commission. The client gets 40 percent of an itemís selling price.
ìWe strive for the brand name quality items,î Frauenkron said. She thinks her store is a good fit here because Caledonia is a small community, and people would have to drive to La Crosse or even the Twin Cities to get name brands similar to what they can find at her store.
Inventory will be updated frequently, and seasonal items will be stocked, Frauenkron said. She can also get items from her Onalaska store, or at a store that her sister, Lorna Thayer, owns in Tomah, Wisconsin called ìTomahís Twice as Nice.î
Her Caledonia store, which like the other mall businesses is located in a former classroom, will have a fitting room and a play area for kids.
Frauenkron welcomes appointments with people who want to sell things. You can come in to the store, which is open daily, or call her at 507-725-8641.
