Winona Controls on the move

Winona Controls is having a new building erected in Caledoniaís industrial park.

The business is currently located at the home of owners Randy and Debbie Klinski in section 32 of Sheldon Township.

ìThe facility will help us to better serve our customers while creating a better work place for our employees,î Randy, the president of the company, said in a press release. ìWeíre looking forward to its completion around the end of June.î

The building will include a 2,000 square foot office/reception area, 3,100 square feet of heated shop/warehouse space, and 1,500 square feet of unheated warehouse space with a loading dock, and a conference/training room.

Winona Controls, which has 11 full-time and one-part-time employee, designs, installs, and services plumbing, HVAC, and building automation systems.

Nelson Construction of Caledonia designed and is building the structure, with Hoskins Electric doing the wiring.

Winona Controls received a tax abatement from the city for a maximum of $6,000 and from the county for a maximum of $10,000. It will be repaid over a 10 year period.
