Bonnie Jean Huebner
Bonnie Jean Huebner, age 74, of Decorah, Iowa, and formerly of Fairfield, CT, died Monday, August 8, 2005 at her home following a short illness.
She was born July 3, 1931 in Houston to Ben and Emma (Torgerson) Westby.
Bonnie graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1953 with a degree in education. She taught first and second grades in Rochester, Minnesota and San Marino, California.
She was united in marriage to Dan F. Huebner on May 14, 1955.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Dan, of Decorah; a daughter, Cindi Alan (Larry) of Simsbury, CT, and two grandchildren.
Bonnie was preceded in death by two sisters, Lillian and Evelyn; and a brother, Morris.
Memorial Services will be held at Friday, August 12, 2005 at First Lutheran Church, Decorah. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.Ý
Additional memorial and burial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2005 at Greenfield Hill Congregational Church and Memorial Gardens in Fairfield, CT.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to the Bonnie & Dan Huebner Westby-Torgerson Education Center Endowment at the Vesterheim Museum, 502 W. Water Street, Decorah, Iowa 52101.
Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah, Iowa is in charge of the arrangements.
