Olga Fairbanks
Olga A. (Thomford) Fairbanks, 86, formerly of Hokah, died Wednesday, August 10, 2005, at Caledonia Care and Rehab.
She was born July 10, 1919 in Crooked Creek Township, Houston County, to John and Louise (Neumann) Cordes. In 1946 Olga married William Thomford and together they farmed in rural Brownsville. William preceded Olga in death in 1958. She later married Adam Fairbanks and they lived in the Hokah area. Olga enjoyed working and traveling with Adam as he pursued his logging business. Adam preceded Olga in death in 1998.
Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Eleanor Cordes and Lorene Cordes; 15 nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her first and second husband, Olga was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, John, Edward, Henry, and Herbert; and two sisters, Laura and Esther.
A private family graveside service will be Saturday, August 13, at 11 a.m. at Zion Evangelical Cemetery, Brownsville. Rev. Brian Cuda will officiate. There will be no visitation. Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home, Caledonia, is in charge of arrangements.
