Inez Wilhelmson
Inez Minerva Wilhelmson, 97, died Saturday, July 30, 2005, at Tweeten Health Services in Spring Grove, where she had been a resident since Novernber, 2003.
Inez was born on February 9, 1908, in Spring Grove, Minnesota, to Alfred C. and Lena (Lien) Storlie.
Inez attended Normal Training School for Teachers at Spring Grove and later Winona State Teachers College getting her teaching degrees. She taught at the Rauk Rural School and at Pine Island.
On June 3, 1931 at Faith Lutheran Church of Black Hammer, Inez married William Wilhelmson. Together they farmed until Williamís death January 29, 1963. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its womenís organizations.
She taught at the Storlie and Beaver Ridge Schools before Williamís death.
She taught at the Kinneberg School in north Black Hammer until it consolidated. Inez then worked for 20 years in the kitchen at Tweeten Hospital and Nursing Home.
Inez is survived by a son James (Lois) Wilhelmson of Spring Grove, a daughter Leone Hanscom of St. Petersburg, Florida, three grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and two step great-grandchildren; four sisters Viola Alstad, Alpha (Willard) Wiegrefe, Ethel Olson and Doris (Delvin) Fokert; and three brothers Luther Storlie, Norman (Alma) Storlie and Irvin Storlie.
In addition to her husband, Inez was preceded in death by two sisters, Lyla Lockhart and Donna Albaugh; one brother Lorrin Storlie, and her son-in-law Ted Hanscom.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 3, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Church cemetery. Pastor Stephanie Frey will officiate. Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roble Funeral Service in Spring Grove, and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
