Alternate side parking to begin this winter
Residents of Caledonia will have to get used to alternate-side parking this winter.
At its meeting of August 22, the council agreed to begin alternate side parking on October 15. Hours will be from midnight to 6 a.m. Between those hours, cars must park on the even side of the street on even-numbered days and the odd-numbered side on odd days. The council agreed to enforce the ordinance regardless of whether there is snow. The policy affects only on-street parking, and will apply to items on the street, such as large trash trailers, as well as vehicles.
The council decided to put the parking restrictions in place in October to make it easier to clean the streets before winter sets in.
The city will publish a ordinance regarding the new policy .
