BOYS BASKETBALL: Fouls cost Caledonia in its boys basketball opener, a 57-50 loss to Spring Grove on the road on December 10.
Spring Grove made 21 of 44 free throw attempts, compared to 3 of 8 for the Warriors.
GIRLS BASKETBALL: The Caledonia girlsí basketball teamís record moved to 3 and 1 after last weekís games. Due to an injury, the team played 10 players in constant rotation.
Caledonia 85, Southland 30
The Warriors traveled to Southland on Tuesday, December 6 for a 85-30 win over the Rebels.
Caledonia hosted the Kingsland Knights on Friday, December 9, losing 65-46.
GYMNASTICS: New gymnastics coach Kim Klopfer is pleased with the results from the first meet of the season against Byron on December 8.
ìA few girls were frustrated because they werenít at the level that they wanted to be at, but what more can you expect from a first meet of the season,î said Klopfer. ìIn fact, this was the best first meet that I have ever coached.î
The girls were outscored by their opponents by a mere four and half points, 110.35 to 114.85.
The JV team won its meet 65.15 to 61.95.
WRESTLING: Caledonia/Houston/Spring Grove beat two of the three teams it faced in a quadrangular wrestling tournament in Austin on December 8.
The Warriors lost to Plainview/Elgin-Millville 39-33 in the first meet, then rebounded to beat Kasson-Mantorville 42-30 and Austin 45-34.
