Selma Clauson
Selma Clauson, age 96, died Monday, December 5, 2005 at the Eastern Star Home in Decorah, IA.
She was born January 9, 1909 to Johannes P. and Christine (Peterson) Clauson in Highland Township, Winneshiek County, Iowa.
She was baptized February 7, 1909 and confirmed August 3, 1924 at Waterloo Ridge Lutheran Church, rural Spring Grove.
She lived on the Clauson family farm for ninety years and farmed with her parents, brother Gerhard, his wife Wilma and their daughters, Connie and Carol. After Gerhardís death in 1971, she and Wilma continued to farm together.
For the past six years she resided at Mathilda A. Barthellís Order of the Eastern Star Home in Decorah, IA.
Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law, Julie and Kenneth Boots of Decorah, as well as 11 nieces and nephews and numerous great and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Selma was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and sisters-in-law; Gerhard (Wilma) Clauson and Peter (Odella) Clauson, and a sister, Jarla Clauson.
Services were held December 8, at the Waterloo Ridge Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery.
