Rita Krzebietke
Rita Ann Krzebietke, 77, of New Albin, Iowa, died Tuesday February 15, 2005 at Franciscan Skemp Healthcare, La Crosse, Wis.
She was born in Prairie du Chien, Wis. on March 9, 1927 to John and Otillia (Hosek) Zlabek. She married William L. Bernier on June 2, 1956 in St. Gabrielleís Catholic Church, Prairie du Chien, Wis. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1983. Rita then married Karl J. Krzebietke on February 14, 1987.
She is survived by her husbandof New Albin; two daughters, Josephine Bernier of Denver; Otillia (Donald) Rutherford of Buda, Texas; one son, William (Denise) Bernier of Eau Claire, Wis.; four grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Mary L. Bennett of Waseca; and two brothers-in-law: John Vach of La Crosse, Wis. and Paul (Erna) Krzebietke of Caledonia. She is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her first husband ; one son, John, on May 12, 1993; one sister, Mary Vach, and one brother, John Zlabek.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2005, in St. Josephís Catholic Church, New Albin. Rev. Daniel Knipper will officiate with burial at 4 p.m. in Calvary Cemetery, Prairie Du Chien.
Friends and family may call from 4 to 8 p.m. at the New Albin Community Center with a Catholic Daughters rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. and a Wake Prayer Service to be held at 8 p.m.
Friends and family may also call from noon until departing for Mass on Saturday at the New Albin Community Center.
The Blaschke Funeral Homes of La Crosse are assisting the family with arrangements.
Memorials are preferred and will be distributed according to Ritaís wishes.
