An armed robbery at the Caledonia Subway restaurant February 15 has resulted in the arrest of two juveniles.

At about 9:20 p.m., a male walked into the Subway sandwich shop on Vista Drive and ordered a sandwich. After the sandwich was made, he informed the clerk that he intended to rob the store and had a knife and a gun. He displayed the knife, and ordered the clerk to give him the money from the cash register. The suspect fled on foot after getting the money, which totaled around $300. Two customers were in the restaurant at the time of the robbery.

On February 17, two juveniles were arrested in Mabel in connection with the robbery. Caledonia Police Chief Randy Shefelbine speculated that one of the youths waited outside while the other robbed the Subway.

Originally, the suspect was described as being in his mid to late 20s, but Chief Shefelbine said that the juvenile taken into custody looks much older than he is.

Chief Shefelbine said that numerous tips were received from the public following the robbery.

The Caledonia police were assisted by the Houston County Sheriffís Office, the Spring Grove Police Department and the Fillmore County Sheriffís Office in the case.

Charges against the two were to be filed Tuesday in Houston County District Court.
