BOYS BASKETBALL: Caledonia beat Kingsland 76-42 on the road on February 4 for its tenth straight boys basketball win.
GIRLS BASKETBALL: After a big win over Rushford-Peterson in Caledonia on Tuesday, February 1, the next two games were rough on the Caledonia girlsí basketball team. The Warriors lost at Chatfield on Thursday, February 3, and then lost in overtime in a home game against Kingsland on Friday, February 4.
GYMNASTICS: A case of intimidation kept the Caledonia/Spring Grove gymnastics team from performing at its best against Pine Island on February 1.
Host Pine Island won the make-up meet 132.65 to 111.25. For junior varsity, the team score was Pine Island: 123 and C/SG: 83.95. The meet was originally scheduled for January 6.
WRESTLING: Caledonia/Houston/Spring Grove came close to pulling off a huge upset last Thursday.
The Warriors lost to Grand Meadow/LeRoy-Ostrander/Kingsland (GMLOK) 40-30 before an excited crowd in Caledonia.
Caledonia is seeded fifth in the Section 1AA team tournament. They wrestle fourth-seeded Lake City on February 10 at 7 p.m. at Lake City. The winner advances to the semi-finals on Saturday at the Rochester Civic Center at 1 p.m.
