Daniel Blexrud
Daniel A. Blexrud, 44, of Hokah, died at home on Sunday, January 25, 2005, following a two-year battle with cancer.
He was born in Caledonia on May 14, 1960, to Arlie and Marilyn (Rollins) Blexrud, and attended La Crescent High School. He married Cheryl FLatten in August 10, 1985, in Hokah. They couple later divorced.
Dan worked as a mechanic, first for his father at La Crescent Motors, later for Gateway (Fleming Foods), Niedfeldt Trucking, and Kwik Trip.
He is survived by his children, Ryan, Andrew, Alex and Emily Blexrud, all of La Crescent; his parents of Brownsville; three sisters, Julie (Paul) Bauer of La Crescent; Rhonda (Paul) Myhre of Houston; and Becky (Mark) Duerwachter of La Crescent; a brother, Douglas (Margie) Blexrud of La Crescent; a special cousin, Bill (Tracey) Blexrud of La Crescent; and special friend Pastor David Possing, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Funeral services will be Friday, January 28, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the Community Church of Hokah. Pastor David Possing will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Hokah. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crescent on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. and at the church one hour prior to the service.
Memorials preferred to the building fund of the Community Church of Hokah.
