Helen Koenig
Helen K. Koening, 68, of Caledonia, died Thursday, January 27, 2005, at Caledonia Care and Rehab in Caledonia.
Helen was born April 14, 1936, in Caledonia to Anthony and Anna (Schiltz) Koenig. She attended the Catholic Grade School and Loretto High School in Caledonia.
Helen worked as a nurseís aid at the Caledonia Hospital for many years.
She is survived by her good friend, Carl Morken of Spring Grove; her twin sister, Mary (Gene) Ferson of Stewartville, MN, sisters Faye Hammell of Bloomington, MN, Lois Gulbranson of Spring Grove, Carolyn (Bert) Wagner of LaCrescent and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Miles, Norman, Anthony Jr., Richard, and Boyd, whom she helped care for until his death.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Sunday, January 30, 2005, at 2 p.m. at St. Maryís Catholic Church, Caledonia. Father Gregory Leif will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church Sunday. McCormick Funeral Home Caledonia is assisting the family with arrangements.
