BOYS BASKETBALL: Caledonia dropped its first boys basketball game of the season on December 31 to Eagan, 67-57 at the Winona State Warrior Club Holiday Tournament.

The loss for the Warriors, 9-1, followed a dramatic 53-51 victory over Northfield a day earlier.

GIRLS BASKETBALL: The Caledonia girls basketball team won their first and lost their second game in the Winona State Warrior Club Holiday Tournament on December 29 and 30.

Caledonia 42 - Stewartville 36

The Warriors defeated a very good Stewartville team on Thursday 42-36.

Caledonia 48 - Cotter 49

Caledonia was leading in the final minutes of this nail-biter, but fell to Cotter in the end.

WRESTLING: For the second straight year, Caledonia/Houston/-Spring Grove emerged from The Clash with a 2-4 record.

The wrestling tournament on December 28 and 29 in Rochester is considered one of the toughest in the state. State champion caliber teams from throughout the United States compete. On the first day, Caledonia lost to Wisconsin Rapids 57-6, lost to Coon Rapids 37-27, then beat Higley, Arizona, 58-22. The next day they beat Omaha Gross 43-25, lost to Omaha Burke 44-26, then lost to Lodi, Wisconsin, 44-25.
