Rosella Onsgard
Rosella Onsgard, 92, of La Crosse, WI and formerly of Spring Grove, died Monday, January 3, 2005, at Bethany-Riverside Nursing Facility in La Crosse.
She was born May 21, l912, to Christ and Bertha (Oseth) Mathias in Yucatan Township, rural Houston. She was baptized and confirmed at the Stone Church, also in Houston.
She married Morris Onsgard at Riceford Parsonage in rural Spring Grove.
Rosella worked at Mansfield Industries in Spring Grove for over ten years, and at Control Data for six years. She moved to La Crosse in 1975, and helped people through Visiting Nurses for many years.
She belonged to St. Paulís Lutheran Church in La Crosse, where she was a very active, faithful member until her health started to fail.
She lived at Bethany-Riverside Nursing Facility for the last year.
She is survived by five children: Marlys Crocker of La Crosse, Arvid (Grace) Onsgard of St. Paul, Gerald (Jeanette) Onsgard of Elk Mound WI., Janice (Kenneth) Rommes of Caledonia and Larry Onsgard (Carol Cody) of La Crosse; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a grandson, Daniel Crocker; two sisters, Amanda Norgard and Sabel Jorde; and two brothers, Morris and Henry Mathias.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 8, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paulís Lutheran Church at 402 West Avenue S., La Crosse, WI.
Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Spring Grove.
Pastor Kris Fahey will officiate.
Friends may call Saturday at the church from 10 - 11 a.m.
Roble Funeral Home in Spring Grove is in charge of arrangements.
