County salaries approved
County commissioners gave raises to non-union and elected officials after meeting in closed session on December 28.
Workers received a three percent cost of living adjustment, which is equivalent to what had been offered to the countyís union employees through the bargaining process, personnel director Tim Comstock wrote in a memo to the board. Employees also get step advancements.
An additional step advancement of up to two percent was given to the following employees because they are at the end of the six-step advancement schedule: Pete Johnson, Bev Bauer, Mike Lee, Allen Henke, Karen Meier-Wills, Carol Hauser, Lindsay Pierce, Lynn Arends, Tom Peter, Shawn Peter, Sheila Schroeder, and Diane Sullivan. These raises are at the discretion of the board.
Here are the salaries of the elected officials.
ï County Attorney Rick Jackson: $74,127.
ï County Sheriff Mike Lee: $70,035.
ï County Auditor A. Peter Johnson: $66,157.
ï County Recorder Bev Bauer: $45,997.
ï County Treasurer Audrey Peterson: $45,997.
County commissioners salaries were set at $16,703, a three percent increase. They did not take a salary increase in 2003 or 2004.
