Physician joins FSH Caledonia Clinic

Caledoniaís newest residents are hoping that their latest move is their last move for a very long time.

Dr. Ryan Brenza, his wife, Noel, and their children Isabella, Samuel, Everhett, and Reid, are making their home at the former Branch house on West Main Street. Both hail from the Chicago area, but were looking for a small town in which to raise their family.

Dr. Brenza, a family practice physician, was finishing his residency when he was encouraged to check out the opportunities offered by Franciscan Skemp Healthcare, and specifically an opening in Caledonia. The Brenzas liked what they saw, and decided to make Caledonia home. Finding a large home with a wrap-around porch was a huge bonus. After moving eight times in eight years, they were determined to find a house to make their home for good.

Dr. Brenza joins Dr. Alan Fleischmann and Dr. John Cochran as the third physician at the clinic. Deb Miller continues to see patients as a CNM/family practice nurse practitioner. He replaces Dr. Ingrid Watkins, who was at the clinic from 2001 to 2004. His schedule will include office hours on Wednesdays in Houston.

Dr. Fleischmann, who has been with the clinic for almost 18 years, will be increasing his administrative duties with the healthcare system. He and Dr. Brenza will be working closely together. Dr. Fleischmann and his wife, Vanessa, plan to stay in Caledonia, although rumors to the contrary have been circulating.

ìWe are not leaving town, but we are looking for a smaller home,î said Dr. Fleischmann.

ìWe are thrilled to have the Brenzas in townî continued Dr. Fleischmann. ìIím looking forward to bringing his skills to our team.î

Dr. Brenza said he became a family practice physician because he enjoys giving care to everyone from newborns to the elderly. He has a special interest in womenís health, pediatrics and dermatology.
