Four conditional use permits OKed

County commissioners approved four conditional use permits on July 5, after the planning commission approved them on June 23.

They are for:

ï Harold Naber, Money Creek Township, to move more than 50 cubic yards of fill in a floodplain. He is making a wildlife pond.

ï Tom Young, Caledonia Township, to move more than 50 cubic yards of fill in a floodplain. He is making a wildlife pond.

ï Arden and Seth Hargrove, Money Creek Township, level II Home Occupation. They are making a wood shop.

ï Coulee Region Management Mound Prairie Township, Preliminary Plat, for a house at the Valley High Golf Course.

The planning commission tabled an application from Jim and Tom Welscher, Caledonia Township, for substantial land alteration greater than 5000 cubic yards in ag district. Scanlan said the planning commission wants the Welshers to do soil borings to see the depth of the black dirt. The commission also wanted some reclamation plans. The Welschers want to sell black dirt at the site.

Jim Gulbransonís application in Spring Grove Township to rezone from Ag to Highway Business was also tabled. He wants to make a historic farm, with new buildings for things like blacksmithing and basketweaving, and possibly a restaurant to go with his bed and breakfast business, Scanlan said. The planning commission is going to view the site on July 13 at 6 p.m.
