Selma Nelson
Selma M. Nelson, 92, of New Albin, Iowa, died Saturday, June 11, 2005, at Franciscan Skemp Medical Center, La Crosse.
She was born November 22, 1912 in New Albin, Iowa to Henry and Elsbeth ìAliceî (Ehlers) Breeser. On June 7, 1933 Selma married Harry A. Nelson in Brownsville, and he preceded her in death on February 11, 1989.
Survivors include five children, Gloria Nelson of Eitzen, Hartha (Richard) Jackson of San Diego, CA, Arvid (Kay) Nelson of Houston, Grace (Norb) Staggemeyer of Caledonia, and Linda (Ron) Meyer of Eitzen; 15 Grandchildren; 19 Great-Grandchildren; one sister, Orinda Nelson of La Crosse, and one brother, Leo (Lois) Breeser of New Albin.
In addition to her husband, Selma was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, David Staggemeyer, and two sisters, Esther Breeser and Hannah Mulholland.
In accordance with Selmaís wishes, a private graveside service will be held for the family. Rev. William Reese, Ph.D. will officiate. The family request no flowers please.
Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home, Caledonia, is in charge of arrangements.
