Richard Lewis

Richard Charles Lewis, 59, of Mabel, and formerly of Spring Grove died Sunday, May 29, 2005, at Tweeten Health Services in Spring Grove.

He was born February 15, 1946 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Vernon and Julia (Wiese) Lewis. He and his family moved to Comfrey, MN where Richard was a l964 Comfrey High School graduate.

On June 14, 1969 Richard married Joan Schmidt at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove.

The couple made their home in Spring Grove, where Richard owned and operated Mr. Richardís Beauty Salon for over twenty years. He later worked at Deco Products in Decorah, IA, and Touhy Furniture in Chatfield.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove, a Pigeon breeder, a horse showman, and had belonged to the Circle A Saddle Club for many years.

Survivors include his wife Joan of Mabel; his father Vernon Lewis of Spring Grove; two sons, Jason Lewis of Grafton, WI, and Justin (Tena) Lewis of Mabel; and two grandsons.

In addition to his grandparents, he was preceded in death by his mother, Julia, and his sister, Catherine Carlson.

Services will be Saturday, June 11, at 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove. Pastor Stephanie Frey will officiate. Roble Funeral Service of Spring Grove is in charge of arrangements.
