Idella Bergsgaard
Idella Minerva Henrietta Bergsgaard, 88, of Coon Rapids, and formerly of Spring Grove, died Monday, June 20, 2005, at Camilla Rose Health Care Center in Coon Rapids.
Idella was born August 24, 1916 in Spring Grove to William and Levina (Doley) Johnsrud. She grew up on a farm in Wilmington Township. She attended elementary and junior high school at the Walden School. She graduated from Spring Grove High School.
She married John Bergsgaard on November 18, 1937. They farmed the Bergsgaard/Livdahl farm in Spring Grove Township. They retired in Spring Grove in 1971. John preceded Idella in death on Oct. 13, 1985.
Idella was active in Trinity Lutheran Church teaching Sunday school, singing in small groups, holding of offices in the church womenís organizations and serving on various church boards. She was also active in the local garden club and the Tweeten Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
Idella moved to Coon Rapids and made her home with Joanne and her family in 1994. She became active in Advent Lutheranís quilters group. When her health declined she moved to Damar, a catered living residence in Coon Rapids. She moved to Camilla Rose Care Center in May of 1989.
She is survived by her two daughters, Lois (Ralph) Ballinger and Joanne Konopa of Coon Rapids. Three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and three sisters, Ruth Simpson of Tampa, FL, Dagny Lake of White Bear Lake, and Beatrice (Allan) Stoddard of Amery, WI.
In addition to her parents, and her husband John, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Onstaxl and Wylliar, Griffith, and a grandson Peter John Ballinger.
Funeral services will be held Fri. June 24 at 11:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Church cemetery. Pastor Stephanie Frey will officiate.
Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Roble Funeral Service in Spring Grove, and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
