Minnie B. Hughes
Minnie B. Hughes, 86, of Valley View Nursing Home, Houston, MN, died Thursday, June 23, 2005 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse, WI.
Minnie was born in Wiscoy Valley, Winona County, MN on March 7, 1919, the daughter of Warren and Barbara (Oevering) Todd. She attended Houston High School, Houston, MN.
Minnie was united in marriage to Walter J. Hughes on February 25, 1938, in her parents home in Money Creek, MN. Together they farmed for many years in Money Creek Valley. Minnie also worked for many years as a food service worker in the Winona Public Schools.
She is a member of Money Creek United Methodist Church and a former member of the Order of Eastern Star. Minnie is survived by her husband, Walter of Valley View Nursing Home, Houston, MN; a son, Earl Hughes of Greeley, CO; two grandsons, Jeffrey (Amy) Hughes and Gregory Hughes, both of Fort Collins, CO; two great-grandchildren, Brannon and Sadie Hughes and a sister, Lillian Spencer of Winona.
Minnie was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, LaVina Heiden.
Memorial service to celebrate Minnieís life will be Sunday, June 26, 2005, at 3:00 p.m. at the Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home, Winona, with Rev. Fauntie Wilcoxon, pastor of Money Creek United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Money Creek Cemetery, Money Creek.
