Charles Blexrud
Charles William Blexrud, 83, of Spring Grove died Saturday, June 4, 2005, at Tweeten Health Services in Spring Grove.
He was born May 6, 1922 in rural Spring Grove to Knute and Gertie (Sandemoen) Blexrud. On November 6, 1948 he was married to Virginia Smalley at Mabel First Lutheran Church by Pastor Phillip Hiller.
He worked for the Houston County Highway Department until 1960 and then moved to the family farm in rural Spring Grove township. He retired from farming in 1999, but continued to reside on the farm. Charles was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife Virginia of Spring Grove; two daughters Charlene (Gordon) Rostvold of Topeka, Kansas, and Nancy (Michael) Gulbranson of Spring Grove; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother Kermit (Beryl) Blexrud, Mabel; one sister Lois (Luverne) Christianson, Rochester; five nieces and one nephew.
Services will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Church cemetery. Pastor Zane Anderson will officiate. Friends may call Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roble Funeral Service in Spring Grove, and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Roble Funeral Service of Spring Grove is in charge of arrangements.
