Amelia Stadtler
Amelia Stadtler, 93, of Caledonia, died Friday, March 11, 2005 at Franciscan Skemp Medical Center, LaCrosse, WI.
She was born September 23, 1911 in Alberta, Canada to George and Minnie (Johnson) Loken. She married Raymond Stadtler, Sr. in 1939 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Caledonia. He preceded her in death in 1982.
Amelia and her husband farmed in the Caledonia area until their retirement in 1976, and they moved to Caledonia in 1978. She enjoyed playing cards and was very active in the Senior Citizens in Caledonia. She was a member of St. Maryís Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women.
She is survived by two sons, Raymond, Jr. (Judy) Stadtler of Caledonia, Leroy (Rose) Stadtler of Spring Grove; a daughter, Darlene (Robert) Corcoran of LaCrosse, seven grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and a sister, Eva Wright of Houston.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ann Bauer; four brothers, Oran, Oliver, Art and Roy; and a sister, Grace.
Mass of Christian Burial was Monday, March 14, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Maryís Catholic Church, Caledonia. Father Gregory Leif officiated and burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia. Friends called from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at McCormick Funeral Home, Caledonia, where a prayer service was said at 4:30 p.m. Friends also called one hour prior to the service at the church Monday.
