Man charged with burglary in Caledonia
A Caledonia man faces four felony counts in a burglary that took place earlier this month.
LaMont Rickey McCauley, 31, was charged on February 24 with burglary in the second and third degree, receiving stolen property, and theft.
Third District Court Judge James Fabian set bail at $30,000 on February 24. McCauley, who is currently in the Houston County Jail, will make his next court appearance on March 9 at 10 a.m.
According to the criminal complaint, a woman reported on February 21 that a computer and accessories, and a Playstation, had been stolen from her unlocked apartment between February 18 and February 21. The Caledonia Police Department received a call on February 21 from another woman that McCauley had appeared at her residence with a computer. She learned that it was stolen and did not want it in her apartment so she called police to come and get it.
Police were told by the victim that another man knew she would be out of town. The other man was located, and told police that he went to the victimís apartment, knocked on her door, and discovered she wasnít home. He then allegedly told this to McCauley, and drove him to the apartment. McCauley then allegedly stole the computer system.

One occurred at Jeff Sheehanís business, Caledonia Auto Center in the old creamery building. Tools, including a solder connector and a cordless drill, were stolen.
