Shirley Foster Lee
Shirley Foster Lee, 78, died in Des Moines, WA, on March 19, 2005.
She was born at Bremen, ND, on August 7, 1926 and raised in New Rockford, ND by Kenneth and Gladys Foster. She attended Concordia College, Moorhead, MN, and Fairview Nursing School in Minneapolis.
She married Bill Lee while he was at Luther Seminary in St. Paul.
The family lived in Bremerton, WA; Levittown, NY; Decorah, IA, Brooklyn, NY; and Tacoma, WA.
She worked as a nurse in Brooklyn, NY and graduated from Luther College in 1961. Earning a Masters Degree from Seattle University while active in teaching, she retired in 1988 from the Bellevue School District after a 25 year career.
She is survived by her four sons: David, of Columbia, MD; Robert, of Enumclaw, WA; John, of Burien, WA; and Philip, of Sacramento, CA. She is also survived by her brother Ivan Foster, of New Rockford; and sisters LaVonne Pangrac, of Maricopa, Arizona, and Janet Rasmussen of Palm Desert, Califomia. She has eleven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday, March 30, at 1 p.m. at Boulevard Park Presbyterian Church in Seattle. She will be buried next to her husband in Spring Grove, where a memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on Monday, April 4, at 1 p.m.
Roble Funeral Service of Spring Grove is in charge of local arrangements.
