Another charged in two city burglaries

Charges were filed on March 22 against a 15-year-old Caledonia juvenile for two burglaries in the city on February 22.

The boyís name cannot be made public because he is under the age of 16. He faces four counts of felony theft and two third degree burglary charges.

The boy has not been arrested, so no hearing date has been set yet, assistant Houston County Attorney Sue Harnack said on March 24.

Another person, Dustin James Saukko, 20, Caledonia, faces the same charges as the juvenile.

The burglaries occurred at Caledonia Auto Center and the Caledonia Mall (the former elementary school).

Saukko is currently in the Houston County jail. He will appear in court again on March 28 at 10:30.

Polus trial delayed

In another court matter, the trial for Wayne A. Polus, 48, of La Crescent that had been scheduled for March 24 and 25 has been continued. No new trial date has been set. He is charged with third degree criminal sexual conduct in an alleged August 2004 incident in La Crescent. He has pled not guilty and is free on $20,000 unconditional bond.

Connor case under advisement

Kobi Maria Connor, 20, La Crescent, had an omnibus hearing on March 17. The case is now under advisement. She was charged with three felonies for allegedly selling crack cocaine in La Crescent on February 5.

Hearing set for Skaggs

A court hearing is scheduled for April 29 for Gary Allen Skaggs, 17, of Winona. He is charged with robbing the Subway restaurant in Caledonia on February 15. Skaggs faces charges of aggravated robbery and making terroristic threats.
