Arrest made in felony probation violation

Robert Armagost, 21, La Crosse, Wisconsin, is being held in the Houston County jail for felony probation violation.

La Crescent police arrested Armagost on March 1 after responding to a fight.

Armagost pled guilty on June 16, 2004, to one county of criminal damage to property for shooting out the windows of a womanís apartment in La Crescent. He was sentenced on October 14 to 13 months in jail, which was stayed, and to five years of probation. He also had to pay $1,865 in restitution.

He broke that probation by not reporting to his probation officer and failing to obtain permission to leave the state. A warrant for his arrest was issued on November 20.

Armagost is also wanted in Warren County, Iowa, for felony burglary third degree contempt hearing. He failed to appear at that so a warrant was issued for his arrest on February 18.

Armagostís next court hearing in Third District Court in Caledonia is March 9 at 11:30.

Drug charges update

Kobi Maria Connor, 20, La Crescent, will have an omnibus hearing on March 17 at 1 p.m. She was charged with three felonies for allegedly selling crack cocaine in La Crescent on February 5.

John Dale Ryan, III, 37, La Crescent, will appear in court on March 9. He was arrested on February 4 and is accused of selling 8.7 grams of marijuana to an undercover officer, and is charged with two felonies for it.

Edward Jones, 31, La Crosse, has an omnibus hearing set for April 20 He was arrested on February 5 in La Crescent and charged with two counts of selling crack cocaine.

Riley still in jail

Charles Edward Riley, 23, Caledonia, appeared in court on February 22 and requested an omnibus hearing, which will be held on April 20. He was arrested on February 18 and charged with five felonies, including aggravated robbery and assault. He also allegedly stashed a loaded .38 caliber handgun at the home of a Caledonia man who let him use his bathroom.

Break-ins at fairgrounds

The Caledonia Police Department has received two reports of break-ins at the fairgrounds. One occurred sometime in early to mid-February when someone broke into the ADA building. Itís not known if anything is missing. The other incident took place in the bingo hall on February 23 when someone pushed open a side window. Nothing was stolen.
