Faye D. Rusert

Faye Diane Rusert, 61, of La Crosse, WI, died Thursday, May 12, 2005, at the Franciscan Skemp Medical Center.

She was born in Story County, IA, on January 15, 1944, to Fred ìHomerî and Ferne (Johnson) Lewis. After graduating from high school in 1962, Faye attended the University of Iowa, receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 1966. During her nursing career Faye worked in Minneapolis and La Crosse.

She provided care for ten years at Gundersen Lutheran and over 16 years at Franciscan Skemp Medical Center. Faye was instrumental in developing the Cardiac Catheterization Lab for Franciscan Skemp.

In 1967, Faye married John Rusert, they later divorced in 1992.

Faye is survived by her daughter Trisha (Jon) Engelbrecht of La Crosse; two grandchildren; two brothers Eugene (Shirley) Lewis of Lewis, IA, and Robert Lewis of Onalaska, TX; many nieces and nephews; and her former husband John Rusert of Stewartville.

Services will be held Sunday, May 15 at 2 p.m. at St. Matthewís Ev. Lutheran Church in La Crosse. Pastor James Krueger will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Matthewís Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse on Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. and at the church on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
