Ruth D. Lewis

Ruth D. Lewis, 78, of Eitzen, died Tuesday, May 10, 2005, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse.

RuthÝwas born October 14, 1926 in Marshalltown, Iowa to Acel and Lillian (Knabb) Keenan. On October 16, 1946,Ýshe married Robert Lewis in Redfield, S.D. and they would have celebrated 59 years of marriage this October.ÝRuth enjoyed sewing, quilting, and crocheting.ÝRuth also made ceramics and porcelain dolls and she operated a ceramics shop when they lived in Marengo, IL, and she operated a doll hospital out of her home in Caledonia.

Survivors include her husband Robert of Eitzen; seven children, Sandy (Ron) Buckenberger of Las Vegas, NV, Barbara Martinson of Belvidere, IL, Regina (Rick) Williams of Morrison, IL, Acel Lewis of Belvidere, IL, Patricia (Wesley) Johnson of Evansville, WI, Jackie (Rob) Tischhauser of New Albin, and Michael (Robin) Lewis of Eitzen; one daughter-in-law, Jaci Lewis of Morrison; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren on the way.; five sisters, Lillian (Dale) Domer, andÝJune Roberts both of Davenport, IA, Patsy (Marvin) McKindrick of Arizona, Cecilia (Roger) Camire of Merrimack, NH, and Sharon Spoelstra of Ontario, CA; and many nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, baby Vince and Robert Lewis Jr.; one brother; and six sisters.

Services will be Saturday, May 14, at 11 a.m. from St. Lukeís United Church of Christ, Eitzen. Rev. Kent A. Meyer, Ph.D. and Pastor Jim Olson will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at St. Lukeís United Church of Christ, Eitzen, on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home, Caledonia, is in charge of arrangements.
