Harold Quinnell

Harold Kenneth Quinnell, 88, of Caledonia, died Saturday, May 14, 2005, at the Valley View Nursing Home, Houston.

He was born August 6, 1916 in Wilmington township, Houston County, to Henry and Clara (Kinneberg) Quinnell. Harold was baptized and confirmed at Wilmington Lutheran Church and he attended country school in Wilmington township. On April 24, 1940 he married Evelyn Gaustad and they celebrated 65 years of marriage this year. Harold farmed most of his life in Houston County. In addition to farming, he worked as a carpenter and helped with the building of the former Caledonia High School. Harold was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Caledonia.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn of Caledonia; four children, Elaine Lehrke of Madison, WI, Ronald Quinnell of Caledonia, Glenda Solberg of Caledonia and her fiance, Doug Wirt of Lewiston, MN, and Krin (Peter) Krause of La Crosse; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one sister, Luella Hanson of Coon Valley, WI; and many nieces and nephews.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Orvin Quinnell; and two sisters, Norma Sherburne and Irene Gaynor.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at 1:00 P.M. from Immanuel Lutheran Church, Caledonia. Rev. Norman Omodt will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Tuesday from 12 noon until the time of service. Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home, Caledonia, is in charge of arrangements.
