Craig Gieser resigns
The ISD #299 school board accepted teacher Craig Gieserís resignation at the end of its May 17 meeting.
The board first discussed it in closed session, where they reviewed criminal charges against Gieser, superintendent Michael Moriarty said on May 18. Gieser, a Caledonia Elementary School music teacher for 26 years, was charged on May 3 with possessing and distributing child pornography.
Moriarty said the resignation is effective May 31. Gieser will receive $20 for each of his 141 unused sick days, which is according to the contract, Moriarty added.
