VOLLEYBALL: The Caledonia Warriors met Winona Cotter in the first round of of the Sub-Section Volleyball Section 1AA East tournament on Thursday, October 27 at Wabasha. The Warriors fell to the Ramblers in four games with scores of 25-19, 22-25, 17-15 and 23-25.
FOOTBALL: Caledonia started its very promising playoff run with two victories in the Section 1AA tournament.
The Warriors (10-0) beat Hayfield 42-14 on October 25, then clobbered Pine Island 51-12 on October 28, both at home.
The wins set up a championship game against top-seeded Winona Cotter (9-1) this Friday, November 4 at 4 p.m. at Maxwell Stadium in Winona. The winner advances to the state tournament. That game will be held on the field of the Section 1AA winner against the section 3AA winner, either Minnesota Valley Lutheran or Pipestone Area.
