Helen Agnes Mullen

Helen Agnes Mullen, 76 of Brownsville died Sunday, November 27, 2005 at her home.

She was born December 20, 1928 in Hokah Township to Joseph M. and Mathilda (Langen) Lorenz. She married Arthur ìBudî Mullen October 3, 1950, at St. Peterís Catholic Church, Hokah. He preceded her in death November 17, 1988.

Helen and Bud farmed in rural Brownsville until her retirement. She also worked at the ASCS Office from 1956 to 1969. She was an active member of St. Patrickís Catholic Church in Brownsville and served as church secretary from 1989 until 1998.

She is survived by her six children: Rosemary (John) Miller of Brownsville, Jeanette (Daniel) Twite of Caledonia, Joann (Brian) Brickman, and Joyce Mullen both of Hokah, Denis (Jill) Mullen and Kathy (Cary) Koel both of Hokah, 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marguerite Feldmeier of Houston, Mary (Maynard) Welscher and Josephine (William) Gavin both of Caledonia.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson Matthew Johnson, and two brothers William and Charles Lorenz.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, at St. Patrickís Catholic Church, Brownsville. Father Gregory Leif will officiate and burial will be in St. Patrickís Cemetery, Brownsville. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Breza Hall next to St. Patrickís Church where a rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church Wednesday. Memorials may be given to St. Peterís Church Building Fund or St. Patrickís Catholic Church.

McCormick Funeral Home, Caledonia is assisting the family with arrangements.
