Week of September 26, 2005
BOYS SOCCER: Caledonia went 3-1 in a busy schedule of boys soccer last week.
They beat Winona Cotter 1-0 at home on September 26, then blanked Plainview 6-0 the next night on the road.
They beat West Salem 2-0 on the road on September 29, then tied Aquinas 0-0 on Friday evening at home.
FOOTBALL: Caledonia High School football team ended the month of September the way it started, with another convincing victory.
The Warriors beat Fillmore-Central in Harmony 30-6. That brought their record to 5-0; they have out-scored their opponents 190-34.
GIRL SOCCER: The Caledonia girls soccer team had only one goal scored against it in three games last week. Coach Susan Link is hoping that the teamís 12-3 record (as of Monday) gets it one of the top three seeds on Sunday when the seeding meeting is held.
CHS 2, Cotter 1
Clare Goetzinger made both of Caledoniaís goals against Winona Cotter on September 26. Sarah Colleran assisted on both.
CHS 6, Dover-Eyota 0
Rachel Ellenz made four of Caledoniaís six goals, and Clare Goetzinger made the other two, one with an assist by Rachel. Four of the goals came in the second half.
VOLLEYBALL: The Warrior volleyball team faced St. Charles at home on Tuesday, September 27. The Saints are one of the best teams in the area and they proved on that night that their reputation is well-earned.
St. Charles defeated the Warriors in four games with scores of 14-25, 26-24, 17-25 and 16-25. This puts Caledoniaís record for the season so far at 7-10, 3-4 in the conference.
