Joyce Dennison

Joyce Jean Dennison, Fort Collins, CO, died September 10, 2005.

She was born July 28, 1940 to Dean and Mary Dennison in Lyle, Minnesota where Joyce attended primary and secondary schools. She graduated from High School in 1958. She attended Luther College in Decorah, Iowa where she graduated with a BA degree in music and elementary education in 1962.

She taught kindergarten classes in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Roseville, Minnesota.

On June 15, 1963 she married Charles Nolop.

In 1986, she entered the Luther Northwestern Seminary. She was ordained in 1991. She served three congregations, All Saints Lutheran Church in Aurora, Colorado; First Luetheran Church in Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church in Fort Collins, Colorado.

In April of 1991, she married the Reverend James Leistikow in Denver, Colorado.

She has survived by her husband; three children: Stefanie (Andrew) Kuehnel of Murrieta, CA; Suzanne (Ed) Fangman of Green Bay, WI; and Michael Nolop of Bozeman, Monatna; three step children: Randy Leistikow of Redwood City, CA; Ann Adair of Omaha, NE; and Jill Leistikow of Thorton, CO; two brothers, David Dennison of Chicago, IL; Bruce Dennison of Northfield, MN; and one sister: Deanna Riley (Jamie) of Chatfield, MN.

A Memorial Service was held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at the Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church, 4501 South Lemay in Fort Collins with Bishop Allen Bjoranberg presiding.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Lutheran Family Services of Colorado Adoption Program in care of Allnutt Funeral service, 650 W. Drake Road, Fort Collins, CO 80526.
