Accident kills La Crescent teenager, injures another
A La Crescent teenager was killed early Friday evening in a one-car accident in Mound Prairie Township.
Alex Heth, 17, was the driver of a vehicle that rolled over on Mound Prairie Drive, which is located off highway 16 near Valley High Golf Course. The accident occurred about 7 p.m. Heth was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 17-year-old passenger, whom authorities did not identify, was injured. He was taken to Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center by the Houston Ambulance Service. The Houston County Sheriffís Office, Houston Ambulance, Houston Poice Department, Minnesota State Patrol and Med Link responded to the accident, and the La Crescent Police and Fire departments assisted as well.
The accident is being investigated by the Houston County Sheriffís Office and Minnesota State Patrol.
Heth had just started his junior year at Bluff Country Learning Options in Hokah.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. today at the Church Of The Crucifixion in La Crescent. Burial will be in the Prospect Hill Cemetery, La Crescent.
