Gertrude M. Ranzenberger
Gertrude M. Ranzenberger, 87, of Caledonia, died Thursday, April 20, 2006, at Caledonia Care and Rehab.
Gertrude Marie Blixrud was born June 22, 1918 in Barrett, MN, to John and Alma (Onstad) Blixrud. On April 6, 1940, she married Raymond Ranzenberger and they were blessed with ten children who were all raised in the Caledonia area. Gertrude was employed at the La Crosse Garment Company and the former Caledonia Hospital. She was an outstanding seamstress. Gertrude enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, puzzle books, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include eight children, John (Ruth Ann) Ranzenberger, of Caledonia, David (Connie) Ranzenberger, of Caledonia, Karen (Rick) Hutchings, of Cuba, MO, Tom (Kathy) Ranzenberger of Stewartville, Jim (Gayle) Ranzenberger of Whalen, MN, Jane (Paul) Schiltz of Caledonia, Joyce (Dale) Dorsch of Winona, and Lisa (Steve) Johnson of Plainview; one daughter-in-law, Linda Ranzenberger of Waukon, IA; two brothers, John (Doris) Blixrud of Minnetonka, MN, and Alden (Eileen) Blixrud of Minneapolis; and two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Blixrud of Elbow Lake, MN, and Lorraine Blixrud of Blue Springs, MO. Gertrude was also blessed with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one daughter, Eileen (Virgil) Mack; one son, Daniel Ranzenberger; two brothers, Paul and Tom Blixrud; and one sister, Joren (George) Moorhead.
Funeral services will be Sunday, April 23, at 3 p.m. at St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church, 650 N. Kingston St., Caledonia. Rev. Jon Wolff will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service. Family prefers memorials to St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran School.
