Marilyn Ganrude Hayes
Marilyn J. Hayes, 63, of Waterloo and formerly of Caledonia died of leukemia on Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.
She was born October 22, 1942 in Filmore County, Minnesota: the daughter of Elvin and Olga (Olson) Ganrude.
Marilyn married Pat Hayes, Jr. on January 6, 1963 in Waterloo; they later divorced. She worked for Cedar Valley Medical Specialists.
Survived by two sons, Joe (Dawn) Hayes of Marion, IA and Pat ìP.J.î (Jennifer) Hayes of Waconia, MN; one daughter, Michelle ìMissiî (Mark) Alexander of Apple Valley, MN; six grandchildren; two brothers, Mervin (Mary Ellen) Ganrude of Caledonia, and Bobby (Aggie) Ganrude of Rockton, IL; and long-time friend, Rick Hurtado of Waterloo, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents and six brothers: Dale, Al, Owen, Warren, Donald and Verdayne.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 11, 2006, at Trinity American Lutheran Church in Waterloo.
Inurnment was at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 12, at Evergreen Cemetery in Caledonia.
Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterloo or The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Minnesota.
Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, Waterloo, was in charge of the arrangements.
